Lens Neurofeedback
Overview

What Is LENS Neurofeedback?

  • Non-invasive and painless: LENS therapy uses a non-invasive approach, with sensors placed on the scalp to monitor brainwave activity
  • Low-intensity signals: The system delivers tiny electromagnetic signals to the brain, which are barely noticeable to the client
  • Brainwave assessment: LENS begins with an assessment to identify individual brainwave patterns and areas of dysregulation
  • Self-regulation: Over time, the brain learns to self-regulate its activity and stabilize its functions, leading to improved mental and emotional well-being
  • Short sessions: LENS sessions are typically short, often lasting only a few minutes
  • Various applications: LENS is used for a variety of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and sleep disorders
  • Rapid results: Some clients report experiencing positive effects even after a few sessions

What to Expect

What a LENS Session Looks Like

Each session starts with sensors placed lightly on the scalp to read your current brainwave patterns. From there, the LENS system delivers a very low-intensity signal back to the brain, essentially giving it feedback so it can adjust on its own.

There is nothing to concentrate on and no exercises to perform. You simply sit back while the system does its work, and most people notice the session is over before they realize it started.

  • Sessions typically run 15-30 minutes
  • No conscious effort, exercises, or homework required
  • Often paired with talk therapy or other AIT treatments
  • Benefits tend to build cumulatively over multiple sessions
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel the LENS signal?

Most clients don’t feel anything at all. The signal delivered is extremely low intensity, which is part of what makes LENS different from more active forms of neurofeedback.

How is LENS different from traditional neurofeedback?

Traditional neurofeedback often requires you to actively engage with a screen or task over many longer sessions. LENS is passive, with the brain doing the work on its own during much shorter sessions.

How many sessions are recommended?

It varies by person and goal. Some clients notice changes within the first few sessions, while others benefit from a longer series to build lasting self-regulation.
